Your tournament day, from the first match to the final

A tournament day, start to finish

The day, in the order it happens

Four moments that make or break a tournament day, and how SetMatcher helps with each: the night before, the start of play, the middle of the day and the moment the wifi drops.

  1. 1

    The night before: the draw

Make the draw from your entry list. Players are seeded by rating, byes go to the top seeds, and you only see the draw formats your sport actually uses.

  2. 2

    Nine o’clock: the courts

Matches are planned onto the courts you have, with enough rest between matches for your sport, and nobody is put on two courts at once. If one match runs late, only the matches after it move.

  3. 3

    Through the day: the desk

One screen at the desk shows what is on court, what is next, who is waiting and what is finished. Results can be entered at the court, the draw moves on by itself, and a wrong score can still be corrected.

  4. 4

When the wifi drops: paper as a backup

Print the order of play and score sheets on A4, each sport’s sheet in its own layout. A result entered without a connection is saved on the device and sent when the connection returns, so nothing is lost or counted twice.

The parts you will use most

What it does not do: SetMatcher does not run the event for you or overrule your decisions. It stops two matches landing on one court at the same time, but calls on court and late entries are still up to you at the desk.

Each of these pages explains one part of SetMatcher in more detail, with examples from your sport.

The other two

Most people are more than one of these. A club secretary often plays on Thursday evening too.
